The Father McKenna Center is an independent nonprofit located in the lower church area below the historic St. Aloysius Church just steps from the US Capitol and Union Station. The Center seeks to give hope and dignity to men struggling with homelessness through various services, as well as, serve families facing food insecurity.

 

Stoiber+Associates partnered with The Father McKenna Center staff and the leadership of Gonzaga College High School in 2012 to create a master plan for this multi-phase, occupied renovation to enhance the nonprofit’s ability to serve those in need throughout the City. With the help of generous donors, the 9,000 SF project was completed in 2020 and includes a large reception area, large dining and program spaces, new administrative offices, renovated restrooms and showers, and accessibility improvements. All of these features have improved the Center's ability to carry on the mission of Father McKenna.
