YOUTH BASEBALL ACADEMY

The Youth Baseball Academy uses the sports baseball and softball as vehicles to foster positive character development, academic achievement and improved health among youth from underserved communities east of the river in Washington, D.C.
The pavilion supports this mission with short throw batting cages and an open central area to provide weather protected program space. As a second use, the pavilion is available for the Academy’s current farmers’ market that serves the local community.
Customized pre-engineered construction was utilized to address project schedule and budget goals, and the project was completed in time for a ribbon cutting by the Washington Nationals as part of their hosting of the 2018 MLB All*Star Game.
